my husband took a niacin vitamin for the first time this am ...

my husband took a niacin vitamin for the first time this am he did get the flushing
and spasms he will not take this vitamin again, but our question is how long does
these symptoms last?

The niacin flush reaction occurs to different people in different ways. Since not everyone’s biochemistry is the same, doses as low as 30mg may cause a reaction in some, but not others.

You could help minimize the likelihood by taking the tablet with your largest meal of the day. Also, flushing will become less and less apparent the longer you use the product.

There are also niacin tablets that are advertized as 'non-flushing'. I haven't tried them myself though, so I don't know how well they work.
