Paxil...Side effects of not taking properly

I know of a person that is taking Paxil. However, he does not take it regularly. I have noticed that in the last few weeks he has progressively gotten more aggressive, mean, and impatient. I then realized that he hasn't taken his medication for approx 6 weeks. He is prescribed 40mg tablets once a day. What effects will him not taking it have? Can I expect him to get worse? Paxil seems to mellow him out and make him more rational. Without it he has no ambition to be responsible, or make smart decisions. There is a baby involved in this sitaution and I fear for his well being. Do I have reason for concern?
