One condition that comes to mind is Costochondritis: the inflammatory process of the costochondral or costosternal joints. It causes localized pain and tenderness. Any of the 7 costochondral junctions may be affected, and this includes the are adjascent to the heart/sternum. The inflammation can impinge on nerves which would produce the symptoms you are describing.

The inflammation may well be causing pressure on your lungs when you are in a given position.

Most importantly, when a Doctor fails to take you seriously a second opinion is not just a right but a responsibility. You know your bidy and I would not allow anyone to counterdict your own experience.
