My daughter, 16, has been having unusual symptoms over the last 2 weeks. Began with red, painful feet gradually radiating up her legs, then in her hands with muscle weakness in arms and legs. No fever, some nausea, constant headaches and fatigue, and lower back pain. Most recent pain is in her jaw with muscle tightness. Some difficulty swallowing- an uncomfortable, full feeling in esophagus. She has been to the dr. 3 times. Urinalysis, CBC, sed rate (I think), kidney function and liver function have all come back normal. Her symptoms are not severe, but have been persistent and seem to be gradually spreading.

Viral titers would be in order - I would request a pediatric infectious disease consult if you are in an area where there is a large medical center. She may have a simple viral infection that is going to take its time clearing. Also I would look at post-strep syndromes.
