You could have local pain and tenderness, or you could have pain extending down one or both legs. Depending on where in your lower back the bulging discs are, you could also experience bowel or bladder symptoms if the spinal nerves dealing with that part of your body are affected.
Typically the pain is sharp, shooting type pain, although it can be dull or throbbing.
