I have been feeling not well for several months. Leg pain, pressure, Difficulty walking, lightheadedness, and loss of appetitite. I had a mri of my brain several months ago which showed deep white matter white/gray matter junction lesions, too numerous for age. I am a 44 year old male 5 "9" average build, not overweight. My Doctor sent me to a neurologist who did blood work to rule out lyme disease and than sent me back to my family prac. He told me that the lesions should not be there in someone my age but I did not have MS and he did not know what is causing them but that he may do another scan in a year to check. I also had a follow up MRI of my Lumbar Spine ( I have had severe lower back problems for a couple of years) showed continuing degeneration of l4/l5 l5/S1, 50% height loss, global bulges, broad base bulges, and small herniation and a tear. Also showed a new onset of osteoarthrictic changes in the femoral heads. I figure this is why i have back and leg pain and problems walking. It also showed a change of a mass on my Kidney. A MRI 8 months earlier called the mass a 3 cm cyst. The last MRI said that it now had atypical signal characteristics on T1 and T2 and due to the fact that rim calcification had been noted on a ct scan a year earlier that the mass should be followed up on. My Family Practice doctor said he did not understand MRI terminology but he doubted it was anything to worry about. He actually said he thinks that radiologists just put that stuff so you will have more expensive tests. I also started having swelling on my left inner thigh (femoral area) and left chest about 2 months ago. My doctor said he did not know why but gave me antibotics. They did nothing and the swelling has gotten worse. Lately I just feel worse everyweek. I can't remember things as well. I have a couple of red spots on my chest where the swelling is. The spots dont itch like a rash or anything but the skin is dry. I have used lotion but it has not helped. It hurts where the spots are and it hurts to touch that area. I cannot feel any hard masses just the swelling which at first was soft and not seems firmer. I have also had swelling on the rear of my jaw on my left side for about 7 months. My doctor does see the swelling but only just says, Wow, you still have that swelling. He sent me to a Pain Management Doctor (PHD). He thought I was depressed and that would explain my problems. I am not depressed. The pain mangement doctor talked to me, reviewed my test results and saw my swelling and said that she did not treat patients like me. She said her patients have pain but all their test results and physical exams and negative. She said I needed medial managment. My Primary care doctor did not seem happy with this. So now I just try to get by day by day and it is getting harder. Last summer I was treated for prostitis, and urinary retention. I also developed a scrotal abcess which was really deep. It was drained and I was at home for 2 weeks so visiting nurses could change the packing. The abcess came back a second time and was drained again. I don't know why I am having all these problems. I never use to even get a cold. This all started about a year and half ago with new symptoms developing over that time.
I don't go to doctors anymore because I feel like I am wasting their time and mine.
Lost and confused.
