Symptoms of an enlarged left Ventricle include:

  • abnormal heartbeats
  • Blood clots (increased risk with enlarged heart)
  • Congestive heart failure
  • Myocardial Ischemia (insufficient blood flow to the muclse tissue)

Enlarged left ventricle is when there is a thickening of the heart muscle pumping chamber (left ventricle). The over developed heart will wear out faster than a normal heart

Causes include high blood pressure, aortic stenosis, dilated cardiomyopathy, genetics, and aortic valve regurgitation.

Shortness of Breath and Chest pain are two other possible symptoms.
