Being diabetic you need to be very careful with your kidney health. I would suggest having a urine sample analysed for presence of glucose, bacteria and protein. If you are experiencing lower back pain then the problem could be more significant than minor cystitis and I would recommend you see a doctor.
You do not mention any burning or urgency to pass water, these are usually signs of infection. Yellow urine can often be a sign of dehydration, so if getting the water intake high enough is very important. Straw colour is the ideal colour to aim for.
Other problem which can cause yellow urine is problem with bile production, although I would normally expect you would also have other symptoms such as abdominal pain or nausea. Also if you were jaundiced, I would expect yellow tint to whites of eyes, or skin.
I don't think at the moment that there are any specific foods which will help. Some foods will colour urine a variety of products but in your case my feeling is that you need to stick to a high fibre, low fat diet with sufficient fruit and vegetables to maintain health without elevating your blood glucose.
