Hi there

Any family history?

Any bruising with minimal trauma?

How many bruises are present at the moment?

No family history that I am aware of...

Please define minimal trauma.

At the current time, his legs, from the knees down are a shade darker from bruising. He also has some single bruises on his arms and buttock.

We are most concerned with the severity of the bruising and "rip" factor of his skin.

Where he has banged himself and bruised, it seems that the underlying bone is bumpy as a result of the hit. Is this what you mean by trauma?

Hi

Minimal trauma- kids his age (mine included) get lots of bruises- but usually we can recall the event that caused the bruise.
Minimal trauma would mean bruising that appears for little or no apparent reason.

Can I also ask what sort of things cause his skin to rip?
How long do these take to heal?
Is he a good eater ?

His bruises seem to be a result of an "accident", either bumping himself, or a friend at school bumping into him, etc. Sometimes in asking him, how did this happen, he will reply " i don't know" but I think this is just a result of being a 4yr old and not always remembering.

He has had stitches 3X. The first time he was at school and his arm got scraped against the door padel to the school and literally ripped a gash in his arm (4 stiches). The second, he and his brother were fooling around on their beds. He hit his head on the wood corner piece. This resulted in a "hole" which required 6 stitches. The third time he fell off his bed while jumping to it and knocked his shin on the wooden frame (12 stitches). Injuries cause it to rip, but its strange the way this happens, where my husband and i feel that these sort of instances, if it were our older son, would have reulted in a cut, but not deep jagged gashes. FYI- we took the beds apart and now they both sleep on the matress on the floor. His head and arm were sometime age and scars are the result. The leg happened just about 1 yr ago, but because he keeps knocking his legs, maybe it doesn't look as healed. Did I mention we send him to daycare with shinguards now!

The healing process doesn't seem to be average. He eats like a 4yr old--okay. Certain times better than others. He does like candy also (not unusual i suppose).
