I have a nerve or muscle jumping in the left part of my stomach, just below my ribs. It's not just a twinge, but really jumps. It's done this for about a week. It doesn't hurt, but it sure is aggravating.

ACCEPTED Check Mark

The common causes of muscle twitching like the one that you are describing are ..
  • stress/ anxiety
  • drugs (caffeine- excess coffee)
  • electrolyte imbalalnce (low potassium)
  • drugs (estrogen, diuretics, steroids)
Rarely it can be a sign of the beginnign of a nerve disease.. hence show to a doctor if the symptoms do not improve over the next few days, while you should take plenty of fluids and a vitamin supplemetn (like centrum) in the meantime..
