I am not well....broke out with small red spots all over my legs...thought it was gnat bites. I have an uneasy feeling in the pit of my stomach, dizziness, extreme fatigue and sleepiness, shortness of breath at times, fluttering heartbeat often, grain fog, and I feel like there is a lot of inflammation in my body. My doctor is out of town, although I have an appointment on Tuesday. I am concerned and don't know where to start with research. I have spinal stenosis and feel that my joints are under attack. What should I do?

Optional Information:
Female , Age: 57

Already Tried:
Tylenol. My only prescriptions are premarin & lyrica.

Good evening,

May I ask some questions for clarification? Did your symptoms start after you noticed the rash on your legs? Or have you had these symptoms of fatigue and shortness of breath for awhile?

After the rash became more prominent. I thought they were gnat bites and ignored them, but I slept at a stranger's home and awakened the next morning with the "bites" all over my legs (on Thursday). I left for Atlanta on Sunday and felt sluggish. I've been so sleepy since...slept the entire flight there and back...have taken naps and gone to bed early since my return on Wed. I am very fatigued and feel like I have lots of inflamation. I have no temp. I just want to sleep and not think. I did not feel well while in Atlanta and right now I am dizzy.

Hi,

I think that there could be a couple of different things going on. Obviously you are concerned about the bites that you have on your legs and rightfully so. If there are multiple bites and they don't itch, they probably are gnats or could they possibly be bed bugs.....but in any case they are causing alot of anxiety for you.

If they were gnats or bed bugs neither of them would be causing the sleepiness, fatigue or shortness of breath. But anxiety certainly can cause you to feel short of breath, and dizzy. Dizziness is also a side effect of Lyrica.

I think that you should keep your appt with your physician on Tuesday. If your shortness of breath worsens, or the rash on your legs worsens, becomes itchy or spreads to other areas of your body, then you may need to go to the E.R.

I would suggest that you consider taking Ibuprophen which is an anti-inflammatory medication unless you have a condition that would prohibit its use.

If the rash is itchey, then Benedryl can be helpful.

I hope that I have helped but if you have any questions regarding this or other concerns, please let me know.

I wish you well....
