Sent to Health Experts August 26, 2006 7:19 p.m.

My wife has just had her first chemo-therapy for non-small cell carsanoma "Lunge Cancer". The tumor was removed. However, she experienced some matasticis in her hip and brain. She had three weeks of radiation therapy before starting her chemo. Her first treatment was on Tuesday. It is now Saturday. She is experiencing severe muscle pain and diareha. Is this normal, or should I be concerned?

My father had chemo last year for stage 4 testicular cancer. This is a normal reaction to the treatment. Pay attention to your wife's hydration level and if she seems dehydrated you should contact her physician. Chemo is going to be a rough journey and she will experience many physical symptoms that are unpleasant to say the least. My father had 4 rounds and it was scary to watch at times for his children, but he has come through with flying colors and is now cancer free. I wish the same for your wife. She is blessed to have you watching over her during this hard time. It will make a difference in her recovery.
