Question

Possible Strokes

Sent to Health Experts August 29, 2006 4:22 a.m.

RE strokes, 84 yr, whi, female had what appeared to be a tia Saturday early afternoon. My mom, totally lost consciousness, dropped on the spot, had a grey cast to her skin, disoriented look, bubbles at lips and what everyone calls a death rattle; however I think it was the inability to swallow. There have been no headaches but she has had nausea off and on. Of course refuses to go to the ER, she doesn't want any life support. Since Saturday she seems to have a "dead pan face" unless someone speaks to her. She knows us, the president, etc, but short term memory is shot. She is on plavix, namdia, and something else for the brain. I have stayed u p tonight because I had a gut feeling She got herself to the bathroom, remembers using the toilet, then called me for help. She was shaky-trembling sort of on all limbs, no life in her eyes, and was nauseated, although she did know me she just wanted to go back to bed-not tto the ER. I've been on WebMD and all the signs arae there, oh, she also has high blood pressure which she takes meds for. I just need confirmation that this is what is happening and that because she hasn't gotten any better since Sat, there is probably a big one on the way.   Trust me, I am on SSI for a disability so money is limited

The severe symptoms lasted for about 2 minutes. I was only 10' from her when she went down in a heap. I got her off her walker and rolled her on her behind and had her lean on my legs. During that time she was still out of it, totally dazed with eyes open and that's when she had the bubbles at her lips

no, her eyes were dull even tho she looked up at me and said "Hi" I asked her to roll over on her knees so I could help her get up, which she tried but couldn't do. I will add one thing, she has diabetes and is overweight and wants to die due to the quality of life she has.
