Reply to Alexander Irvine's Post: Actually I had an "Episode" 4 weeks ago. I had stiff neck for a few weeks, under a great deal of stress for months leading up to the incident, went for a 50 KM bike ride in the extreme heat (34 degree celcius) neck got worse went for a deep tissue massage. This did not help next day got my neck manipulated. Next day started to feel numbness in three of my fingers and half of my palms. Then the numbness moved to my legs. Saw a neurologist the next day and the following day had an MRI. the results showed a legion at my C3 in my neck. Started three day of steroid treatment (selumydrol) a month later symptoms almost completely reversed, still have mild numbness in finger tips only and legs are more sensitive to touch. Two days ago went to visit a MS specialist at the Montreal neurological institute who classified my condition as an isolated one time occurance. I am scheduled for another MRI in the next 3 to 4 weeks, where I hope the results will show no more legion or at least a much smaller one. After doing some research and questioning other people with MS I learnt about myelin and its role it plays in my body. So now I was wondering is there a way to minimize my chances of another event by some how increasing my Myelin around the area of inflammation?
