I have had a couple breakouts of what was first diagnosed as genital herpes. However my blood test for type 1 and 2 are negative as well as the cultures. My symptoms range from swollen lymph nodes in the groin area, neck, and behind the head, with severe headaches. I have only had actual blisters aprox. 3 times over a three year period but my body has taken a toll. I just don't have the energy I use to. I started taking Topamax for my seizures approx. 3 years ago after the birth of our son and was recently diagnosed with endometriosis. My doctors are at a loss and if I breakout again may send me to a dermatologist.....I can't help but feel like it's something viral or worse. If you have any suggestions for my doctor to explore or know of any similiar case please help...

A biopsy is indicated upon the next appearance of lesions. Otherwise testing should begin with basic infection, and inflammation markers. The testing may then progress to basic organ function, endocrine system, and then autoimmune disorders. Your family Physician should consider referral to a specialist including a dermatologist, immunologist, hematologist and/or nuurologist. This will require some organization, so keep close account of tests, results, symptoms, questions and answers. Keep this with you at any appointment. Avoid speculating at this phase, and pursue any testing offered that will narrow down the root cause of your symptoms. I am familiar personally and professionally with the special challenges presented to parents of toddlers suffering from chronic, unexplained illness. I realize what you are facing, and would be happy to provide any information along the way.
