Reply to Alexander Irvine's Post: All I know I took Lortab and started itching very bad then I finally went to sleep the next a.m. my eyes were swelled and I had a rash on my face. I went to the Dr. and he said I was allergic to all pain med.

Hi

You're therefore allergic to hydrocodone, probably.

You have a few options to improve your pain control.

1. Add in an anti-inflammatory - such as your ibuprofen - 600 mg three times per day.

2. And in an antidepressant - several are a very helpful in patients with chronic pain particularly amitriptyline, duloxetine, venlafaxine.

3. Add in capsaicin cream - this is effective in about 50% of patients with chronic pain.
