For the last 3 months my period has only ...

For the last 3 months my period has only consisted of just spotting .This month I have been bleeding(nothing heavy) for the last 2 weeks.....Is this normal?

Already Tried:
seen a dr, said not to be alarmed ,only if i missed my period alltogether for 3mos+
