traces of blood and discomfort during urination

I have been experiencing slight traces of blood in my urine and some discomfort when urinating. Also, after sex, I notice small traces of blood in the discharge and it seemed to make urination more painful. Can these symptoms be related and what can I do? This has been going on for a week. I am taking cranberry supplements and drinking tons of water but so far no relief.
