What are the symptoms of galvanized metal poisoning?

my dad came home from work, and he was welding in a tight place in a machine for a long time without a mask. he can bearly talk or breath right, and his muscles are all cramping up. he has random spasms where his muscles all tighten up and he can't move. is this galvanized metal poisoning?
