LadyAdoncia,

The best time to test for pregnancy is at least two weeks after a missed period, and a blood test is the most accurate way of testing. Urine tests are well known to be faulty, so I would go by a blood test. If you haven't missed a period yet, then I would wait and have a test redone. There would be symptoms if you had a miscarriage, which would be noticeable. Signs of a miscarriage include vaginal bleeding, abdominal, lower back, or pelvic pain, or passing of tissue from the vagina. Bleeding may be light or heavy, constant or irregular. When bleeding is accompanied by pain, the likelihood of miscarriage is high.

Reply to Annie's Post: I have done several urine tests and my mother didnt show positive in her blood until her second trimester when she was pregnant with me. I did show those symptoms of miscarriage yet the ER dr said I didnt miscarry and I havent had a period since August 23rd. I just went through a large move with my husband due to the Navy and I have been stressed and busy unpacking can that cause my hormone level to drop?

LadyAdoncia,

Stress wouldn't cause a change in hormone levels. Did they tell you exactly what level the blood test showed? Less than 5 is considered not pregnant. Are you stating that you had these symptoms including bleeding but your doctor said your cervix was closed?

Reply to Annie's Post: Yes I showed the signs of miscarriage sever abdominal pain and light spotting and the ER dr said my cervix was closed and said I deffently didnt miscarry and since I would have only been about 8 days pregnant that is why the blood didnt show that I was pregnant and no they didnt show me the levels of the blood they just said it was negative. I also showed a positive urine up until today.

LadyAdoncia,

The blood test is usually more sensitive, and it could have been too early to detect a level. Though rare, some women do take longer to show up positive on a blood test. As far as your next cycle showing up, this will be variable but if it doesn't start within 2-3 months, I would see your doctor.

Reply to Annie's Post: I still want to know what could cause a positive urine last week which would have been 3 weeks 6 days pregnant when I took it and suddenly today which would be 4 weeks 4 days pregnant I have a negative. The test I took last week was from Confirm Clearly can anything cause this I am scared that I have a dead child inside of me now.

LadyAdoncia,

Looking at the info and statistics for this particular urine test, the info I have states that there have been complaints about false positives, and this test is also not as sensitive to the pregnancy hormone as other hpts. It is listed as a 50, when most tests are 20-25. In this case I would not trust the results of theConfirm Clearly. In my years of experience I have seen many hpt's that are inaccurate, and these days even the new digital ones are notorious for false positives.
