Hi,
As you know insulin is a hormone which helps in absorption of glucose from the blood into the body cells. The glucose is then used in the normal activity of the body and the excess is stored. In insulin resisitance, the secreting insulin is not able to absorb the appropriate amount of glucose into the cells from the blood. As a result the body secretes more insulin with still less glucose getting absorbed. As a result the body's regular glucose supply goes down. That is why you get symptoms of sweating etc, when the sugar levels in the body cells go down. But the sugar in the blood stream is normal, with an increased amount of insulin levels in blood. This is called insulin resistance. This is seen mostly in patients who are obese, have Type II diabetes, have high cholesterol etc. Diagnosis is done by measuring blood glucose and blood insulin levels. Treatment is basically a change in diet, exercising and some medicines.

I would advise you to ask your doctor to get your blood glucose and blood insulin levels done to reach a conclusive diagnosis. Also consult a dietician who can put you on a special diet for insulin resistance and recomend the type of exercise to do daily.
