Last week I got the results of my blood tests at my gynecologists office. I asked him to test me for STDs since I am in a new relationship and want to be safe. He told me that I tested positive for the antibodies for syphilis. He put me on two weeks worth of tetracycline. My boyfriend got tested this week and he is negative. Before my current boyfriend, I hadn't had sex since 2004 and I used a condom (it was only one time). My boyfriend's doctor told him to tell me to have a more specific test done. He said that something else could have raised my ASI levels. I am convinced that my test results are wrong. I have no symptoms whatsoever, and if I got this over 2 years ago, wouldn't I have some symptoms? What other conditions can raise an ASI level? I am going to take the rest of my medication anyway, but I am seriously confused about this whole situation. Help please.
