Hello my friend,
I understand your concern and I will do everything I can to help you. Twitching is generally associated with something going on with the nervous system which can affect your entire body or certain parts of your body. A neuromuscular exam and an EMG will be very helpful in trying to figure this out. I recommend that you see a neurologist just to be sure that this is nothing serious.
Other causes of twitching
Hypertension-Twitching can also be caused by hypertension (high blood pressure). In your case your doctor would need to monitor your blood pressure more carefully to be sure that this is not the cause. It is normal for blood pressure to change several times per day, but if it is high most of the time then you have hypertension.
Nerve Hyperexcitablity- This is basically involuntary muscle activity such as when the muscle twitches. For some people this can cause a cramp like feeling and soreness depending on the extent of the disorder. Some people will have more mild symptoms while others will be more severe. Fatigue is also associated with Nerve Hyperexcitability. The symptoms can be worse during anxiety or stress. Most people notice their symptoms start when they are under extreme stress. Sometimes the twitching can even be worse when laying down resting. This type of disorder can also be associated with other underlying medical conditions.
I highly recommend that you see a neurologist and bring up these possible causes to find out exactly what may be going on. I will also give some additional recommendations for nutritional support.
1). Take a whole food multi vitamin and mineral supplement with Extra B-vitamins. The B-vitamins aid the nervous system a great deal. They help reduce fatigue and increase energy. In order to notice a real difference you need to take at least 50 mg of B-vitamins per day. You may have to purchase the B-complex separately unless you can find a multi which contains a high enough dosage.
2). Get your blood pressure under control- Even if you have to take medication to do this it is better to take the medication and keep your BP in good standing than to let the high blood pressure ruin your body. If high blood pressure is left un treated it causes many problems such as heart disease, or even blindness.
3). Keep yourself hydrated-Drink 8 to 10 glasses of pure water each day. This is soo important especially if you have high blood pressure.
4). Take an additional calcium/magnesium supplement. The magnesium works best with the calcium because they work together. The magnesium is especially helpful in nourishing your muscles.
5). You may also be deficient in omega 3 fatty acids. Be sure to take a spoonful of organic flax seed oil daily. This also helps your heart brain, and skin.
I hope this helps give you some ideas as to what may be going on. Please click on accept otherwise please request more information. I am always here for you.
Take care
