Reply to Onlinedoc's Post: Have had pain about one month. The pain is a severe shooting pain when walking or standing. H

I am 5'2" and weigh 106 pounds.
I have degenerative disk disease in two disks and one vert. is forward 25% permanently.

Current doc said to do exercises, however, I am already exercising (four times a week at gym) and some cardio, and am already doing some of the suggested exercises. Have good core strength.

Am taking one/half vicoden at night and every other day one motrin.

I have had ulcerative colitis and cannot take much more motrin. The doc said possibly I have an inflamed joint caused by the ulcerative colitis but it does not hurt all the time. Motrin helps with the ache but obviously not with the shooting pain.

other medications: Asacol, Syntest, Fosamax & vitamins.

I am in good physical condition except for this pain.

Thanking you in advance - I appreciate you input!

Hi,

As you are suffering from 25% forward vertebra so nothing dramatic can be done in your case. You need to be reinvestigated to assess spondylo-listhesis. In your case lumbar traction can be quite helpful. Accupressure can relieve your symptoms to fair extent.
