just pain (mostly no pain) ear infections; usually after he has gone swimming. the symptoms I previously described intensify when he is sick, so we know he probably has an ear infection & that is confirmed when we take him to the Dr., which he has been to see many, many times these past 2 yrs. all the Dr. says is he needs to wear ear plugs and puts him on antibiotics. he got a shot 2 weeks ago for the ears and then a week later, they put him on a 5 day antibiotic because he had bronchitis (sp?) Then he got his first allery shot last week (it took months to get it approved because we have an HMO) and he has been extremely spacey and sick since the shot. School is about to start and he can't function. He missed a few months of school 2 years ago when this whole thing started. and he did get a little better, but always a "spacey, not real feeling and cannot concentrate, always with a headache in the forehead and sometimes on the top of his head. He has had No psych app: he refuses to go... I am so concerned and feel helpless. He lives with me, grandpa, his mom & little sister. The doctors always say they don't know what is wrong or we get the impression that that think he is faking it. His face is an ashen color now and sometimes his pupils are dilated.

so you feel allergies/sinus are not the reason for these symptoms? I was wondering about lyme disease or lack of nutrients such as potassium, etc. or lack of oxygen/blood may be a reason...I am grabbing at straws, but i know he should see a counselor/psych, also

so you don't believe that these symptoms are caused by allergy/sinus? what about a vitamin deficiency like potassum, or, lyme disease or lack of oxygen/blood? I also forgot to mention that just before these symptoms began a couple of years ago, that my grandson was dropped into a small trashcan, head first. He hit hard, so I don't know if this could be a factor, or not, either...

His symptoms do not at all suggest an allergy or sinus condition. Nor would his symptoms be caused by a fall. The non-specific pattern of his symptoms instead suggest a psychological background. you should go for a psychiatric evaluation for depression, anxiety, etc. I am quite confident that with adequate mood stabilisers he wil be able to regain control of his life.
