Recently Had PET cat scan (results were negative for cancer) done to rightside pain and burning sensation. It all started in November and had 2 die cat scans showing lymph nodes were slowly going down in size from 11mm to between 5 to 6mm (second scan done in Feb 2007). Also had colonoscopy done and he found 1 small polyup results from this was neg. Why is this right side still giving me problems

It could honestly be that more polyps have formed and even though your lymph nodes are going down this may not start the formation of new polyps that will cause you to have issues with the pain and burning. The other possible cause could be an issue with the nerves that branch off of your sciatic nerve and will cause pain and burning as well so I do highly recommend that you be seen again to ask about both of these possible causes. If your polyp biopsy was negative this is of course wonderful news but having one makes you more apt to have more form but I feel that you may be having an issue with nerve related pain and a medication such as Neurontin would help to fight the symptoms while your nerves regenerate.

Reply to Cheryl K.'s Post: The colonoscapy was done on May 26, the pain is right along the area of the appendix. This all started when I was told at the ER in November that they had found 2 lymph nodes infected. I forget what they put me on now. All my blood work came back negative other thhen the prostrate was slightly elevated. Liver function was normal and blood work for appendacitus was normal, Urine sample showed no blood in urine. I had talked to some dr on here and he recommended a complete blood workdone and stool sample. so what does a complete blood work entail

Yes they would check automatically for this as well, any abnormal signs in your stool would be seen when they do the Fecal Occult Test and it is not that you have not been out of the country as we have alot of people who come into the US daily and can be carriers for illness and disease as well as internal parasites.
