I have several symptoms that have developed over the past eight months - maybe or maybe not related. Began with right thigh become weak and a little tired feeling, progressing over about six weeks into moderate to strong pain during the night. Then, about 10 weeks ago my elbow became painful and week - right side again. I did rap my elbow slightly and felt a bruise on the outside of the elbow. The "bruise" never colored, but never went away. Now my arm hurts all the way up to the shoulder, but not IN the shoulder, and down abou four inches below the elbow - this seems to be muscle pain and the arm is considerably weaker than before. I have difficulty lifting almost anything - my purse (which is quite small), my laptop, using my wrist causes pain at my elbow and just below. Any ideas?

Dr. Steve:are u right or left- handed?
Customer (name blocked for privacy):Right
Dr. Steve:in terms of ur right are/elbow symptoms--it sounds like Reptitive Stress Tendonitis
Dr. Steve:in elbow/shldr tendons
Customer (name blocked for privacy):Does that radiate into the upper and lower arm muscles?
Dr. Steve:but the fact u have thigh sympt. also MAY point to Fibromyalgia.
Dr. Steve:Yes, it does
Dr. Steve:can occur any level..but most commonly either wrist, elbow, forearm and/or shldr
Dr. Steve:i have it myself--from being on the computer so much
Dr. Steve:can u describe the thigh sympt. in more detail?
Customer (name blocked for privacy):Hmmmm. I did call it "mouse elbow" when it began. Re: the thigh. I noticed it several months ago - as a discomfort and weakness up near the hip joint, but not in the joint. It is especially noticeable when climbing stairs. At night it becomes painful, not uncomfortable.
Customer (name blocked for privacy):The same thing with the elbow at night - I awaken several times during the night with pain, not just discomfort. I usually do try to differentiate between pain and discomfort.
Dr. Steve:this sounds like Hip Bursitis
Dr. Steve:aka. Trochanteric Bursitis of hip

I very much appreciate Dr. Steve's time and reassuring helpfulness. Adding the additional funds was somewhat awkward and by the time I got back to my page, Dr. Steve was gone. But, thank you.
