infiltration of chemotherapy

while receiving an iv chemo treatment the needle backed out and the chemo was injected under the skin. would like to know possible side effects.

she had lymphoma. all I know is it was called high dose chemo and she was in hospital to get it

what I was interested in is that she went thru a period of time, while the drug was still in her arm, of delutional episodes where she was seeing and talking with people who where not there. the surgery was not performed for about six weeks. could the drugs have caused this to happen?

No, that would not happen.

As I said, leakage will cause local symptoms in the site, but not systemic effects. The delusion, etc. may sometimes occur as a complication of some drugs used in chemotherapy, but not due to leakage of the agent.
