I have been diagnosied today with steptococlus of the vagnina I only hd the symtoms after having sex with my partner. We had split up for several months and this was the first time we had sex.

Streptococcal infections of the vagina can be contracted through any contact (including sexual). It frequently colonizes without symptoms other areas of the body (for example the nares, throat, mouth or even the skin) and can spread to the same person or from one person to the next. It is not possible to say whether it was contracted during intercourse but it is possible.
