My sister-in-law has Adult Polycystic Kidney Disease and Myotonic Dystrophy.
I have a few questions.
1. Can the Myotonic Dystrophy affect the progression of the Polycystic Kidney Disease??
and if so
2. How will it progress it?

She inherited the APD from her father and the Adult form of Myotonic Dystrophy from her mother.

If she is just now (age 26) beginning to suffer symptoms of both diseases, what is the prognosis of her life span?

How will the combination of the 2 diseases affect her??

And finally how can I obtain more information, if there is any available, about the combination of the 2 diseases together and the effects that they have on each other??

I am very concerned about her. She refuses to tell her Doctors that she has Myotonic Dystrophy and I am trying to convince her how important it is that she tell them..
