I get red spots all over my face, blood red eyes and cough blood whenever I vomit. People say its because I don't allow it to come out easily, and that I fight it. I try very hard to allow it to come out, and feel like Im not struggling with it, but I get the same results everytime. Its embarrassing. Especially all the red spots on my face that lasts for days! Do you know whats happening here? Do you know how I can prevent this? Please Help!

Sounds as though your are getting broken blood vessels. There is no way to prevent them or to get them to heal quicker. If you are vomiting frequently, then you would mainly need to find the cause for vomiting. You could try to apply a cold compact to the area, but you just need to wait for them heal which generally takes a few days to do.

Reply to Lindie's Post: Why am I the only one I know that gets red spots all over my face when I vomit? They are not just a few. I look like I placed my entire face on something that my skin is allergic to.

And also, is coughing up blood towards the end of my vomiting, a a sign of something more serious??

You just haven't ran into anyone else. There are several people that this occurs too. Some are more sensitive than others. Just as when some have a baby and they push to have the baby, they will break blood vessels as well. As far as vomiting blood it could be that you have a tear in the blood vessel of the throat or esophagus. Some can heal on their own. Some can get infected and not heal as well. I would suggest seeing your doctor though for further evaluation. Actually a Gastroenterologist would be the best doctor to see for that.

Reply to Lindie's Post: About my vomiting: Are there any liquids or foods I can eat or drink to help replenish myself quicker after vomiting? Are there foods and drinks I should stay away from?

About the Red Spots on my face: Is there any particular lotion I can apply to help them heal quicker? Besides a cold compress, is there ANYTHING else I can do to help them heal quicker? I just want to be aware of all possible options, if any...

I vomited today because I drank too much last night. This doesnt happen often, maybe about 10 times a year. But when I do vomit, I get REALLY upset at these embarrasing red spots that appear on my face! It looks as if I have a mean rash of some sort. I feel fine inside, but when I look in the mirror, I look sick! I would also feel very depressed and scared because I didnt know anyone like this. And the coughing up blood just frightens me! The info you provided helped me in the way that Im more aware of whats happening to me, but I guess I'm still wanting to know WHY it happens to me.

Some people are just more prone to it than others that's all. It doesn't make you any worse than anyone else. It may be that you are more forceful with your vomiting, which may or may not be related to the when you vomit up blood. Vomiting is not an easy task and can cause havoc on the stomach, throat or esophagus, mouth etc.. When you see the doctor to find the cause for the vomiting of the blood also make sure they do a full blood work up as well. Which may give some indications as well, like if your sugar may be up, thyroid not right etc..

Hope this helps Hun..
