I have had a hors voice for over 3 week, and can't even read goodnigth storys for my children becouse my voice gets worsh. I went to the Doctor for 2 days ago, and he told me that I had heartburn and described Protonix 40mg. today my voice is still as bad, and my throat is bad to. I do not think it is heartburn, I eat health, dont smoke and eat small porstions. Hope to get some help! thank you! Ann Britt

You may be having a case of laryngitis / vocal cord nodules.

The best treatment for this condition is resting your voice box. the more you try to shout, the more inflammed they are going to be. This can be achieved by warm saline gargles, aviding speech and using awriting board to communicated. NO SHOUTING Images available only to Customers.

Taking an anti-inflammatory maybe useful (MOTRIN), if you have some throat pain.

If this does not imrpove with this tretament within a couple of weeks then another examination with an ENT specialist is needed,
