Hello: i am experiencing a severe sore throat that has lasted for about a week now. I have no cold or flu like symptoms associated with the sore throat. It feels like i constantly have something stuck in the back of my throat or like something has scratched the back of my throat. I have difficulty swallowing even simple liquids like water at times. I have tried gargling with salt water, taking pain relievers, sucking on Halls drops and everything but nothing helps ease the pain. This evening i looked in the mirror with a flashlight at the back of my throat and i noticed a white, oval spot on the back of the right side of my thoat on the soft palate where the pain is. I had my tonsils removed when i was a child so i know it is not tonsilitis. Could someone please help because the pain is quite severe. Thank you so much!
