My son is feeling itchy in his throat and coughing

Hi there

my son is 18 year old and his coughing all the time. he is smoking almost a year. but even before he stars smoking he was coughing have very low energy very sensetive. He feels like itching in his throat.

I HAVE TRYED ROBUTUSSIN WITH CODAIN TWO YEARS AGO DID NOT HELP STILL SAME. I TRYED MANY DIFFERENT MEDICINES AND HOME MADE THINGS. DO YOU THINK IT ALSO CAN BE SOME ALEGIC REACTION TO THE SMOK?

Hi,
I would like him to take an allergy medication ,it is called CLARITIN once a day.His cough may be coming from environmental allergens or it is a smoker cough. If this medications doesn't make him feel better please see a physician.
