Hi a couple days ago I started having some neck pain and a lump appeared on my neck behind my right ear. The lump has gone down in size but my neck still feels a little sore and there are other little small bumps in a row underneath it. Yesterday I had a headache and this morning I woke up with a sore throat and a fever. Do you think the bumps are related to my fever and throat..like are they my glands or do you think it is something more serious?

Hello,

I think the bumps are related to fever and sore throat. You need a throat culture to rule out a Strep Throat. If it is you need an antibiotic if it is not , the problem is coming from a virus and it will go away on it 's own gradually.

You can take Advil tablet for pain, sore throat lozenges or gargle your throt with salt-water mixture. You may need to go to a health care proffessional fore throat culture to be taken.

Relist: I want a different opinion.
How long will it take for the bumps to go away and is there anything I can do to help the problem? If they don't go away within a certain period of time, should I be concerned that it is something more serious.
