I have just gotten over a cold. Which included a very sore throat. My girlfriend unfortunately also contracted this cold from me and went to see the doctor. They did a throat culture on her and she cam back negative for strep. A week later she was contacted by her doctor and they told her that that she had haemophilus influenza. They prescribed her z-pak antibiotics even though she was almost over this. My question is should I go to the doctor to see if I need antibiotics since I gave her this cold?

Yes you should see your doctor to receive antibiotics if the doctor thinks they are needed. By telling the doctor this story, he/she will probably put you on antibiotics just in case. The doctor may do a throat culture on you also to see if any bacteria are still present. If this answer helps please hit the accept button. Thank you.
