Your symptoms suggest seasonal allergies which cause post nasal drip and often result in sore throat.
The color and consistency of the mucus from your nose will change, if you are devloping sinusitis, from clear or milky to thick, discolored and often foul-tasting mucus. Other signs that infection is present include: toothache, pain between the eyes, fever, and productive cough.
The histamines released during an allergic reaction may cause watery, itchy eyes, and itchy skin and irritated mucosa (ex. tongue).
Take an antihistamine and use a cool mist vaporizor at night. Prescription nasal spray may help if OTC treatments fail. If symptoms worsen or you have a fever, productive cough, and/or thick, colored mucous see your Doctor.
For St Louis allergens by season are: allergy-provoking trees (elm, maple/box elder, alder, birch, oak, and hickory) pollinate from March to June.
Many grasses pollinate in this region From May to July
Weeds (Russian thistle, plantain, and nettle) generally pollinate from July to September.
Then, from early August until late September, ragweed pollinates in this region.
Good Luck to you-hope you feel better!
