I have small bumps on the back of my toungue and a whitish film over my toungue...yesterday my throat was a little sore, today it's my toungue...is this something that can be treated with over the counter items?

There are several things it could be but I think strep throat is probably it..And for that you will need to see your doctor to get antibiotics it won't go away on it's own..Hope this helps..Brenda

Reply to BRENDA BACKUS's Post: Thank you for the reply. Yesterday I brushed, then used peroxide on my tongue and then Listerine. After doing that about 2 times - about an hour apart - and before bed, it seemed to be a bit better. The whitish-yellow film is barely there now, and the soreness is much better. The bumps, I think, are my taste buds that were a bit larger than usual for whatever reason, but I don't believe any thing (now) to be alarmed about. The sore throat was only for the one day, so I do not believe strep throat to be the issue. I appreciate your suggestion, though.

Well I'm glad you are feeling better and continue to do so..Keep an eye out because strept can go from okay to worse quick..If you start having bumps in your throat please go to your doctor..My only hope is you feel better...Brenda
