Hello, My friend is a 44 year old male who has a very sore

Hello,
My friend is a 44 year old male who has a very sore throat,
has had fever, hoarseness, since Sunday. He has NO health
insurance, and (in my opinion) overworks himself. What advice can I
give him? He said he has takes Aspirin, Tylenol, but the only thing he said
really helped, is drinking HOT WATER. Please help?
