Feel like throat is closing or dry patch in throat...
Sent to Health Experts July 14 07:06 AM

I awoke this morning feeling like I had a very dry patch in the back of my throat. I took a drink and it didn't go away. It feels like the dry patch is still there or that my throat is swollen in the back. I'm worried it might be closing up. I've been awake for almost an hour and it's still there, but I'm not sure if it's gotten any worse or any better. Suggestions please.

Reply to Cheryl K.'s Post: No, I haven't had anything but water and I am on no new suplements or meds. The last thing I ate last night was a non-fat frozen yogurt "ice cream" that I've had before with no problems.

This sounds like you either are having an allergic reaction, symptom of asthma, or are starting to come down with a throat infection. Most of the time when they airways in the throat feel they are closing up that is due to a swelling of the membranes in the throat. If you have any Benadryl take a dose of Benadryl and see if this seems to help to open your airways. You may have never been diagnosed with asthma but this is still a possibility. If the Benadryl does not seem to help, it gets worse, or you start to feel pain in the throat you need to be seen as soon as possible.
