I'VE HAD A MILD SORE THROAT FOR OVER TWO MONTHS. (IT HURTS WHEN I SWALLOW.) MY DOCTOR CHECKED MY THROAT AND SAID IT WASN'T RED. HE ALSO STATED THAT THE SEVERAL DIFFERENT ANTIBIOTICS THAT I HAD BEEN TAKING FOR A RESISTANT STAPH SKIN INFECTION SHOULD HAVE CURED ANY SORE THROAT. NOW, FOR THE PAST FEW DAYS, I'M BECOMING LIGHT HEADED AND A LITTLE DIZZY EVERY TIME I MOVE MY HEAD. DO YOU THINK MY SYMPTOMS ARE RELATED?

I'M NOT SURE. I THINK THAT THE SURROUNDINGS ARE SPINNIN, BUT IT HAPPENS SO QUICKLY, IT MAKES ME FEEL OFF BALANCE AND A LITTLE NAUSEAUS.

Do you have ringing in the ear and hearing impairment . ?

Does dizziness happen only when you move your head to certain direction ?

I HAVE NO RINGING IN MY EARS OR HEARING IMPAIRMENT.
IT'S POSSIBLE THAT THE DIZZINESS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN I MOVE MY HEAD IN A CERTAIN DIRECTION, BUT I'M UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHICH WAY. IT HAPPENS WHEN I RISE FROM A SITTING POSITION AND WHEN I'M TURNING A CORNER WHILE WALKING. IT'S THE SAME FEELING THAT I HAD MANY YEARS AGO WHEN MY EYE DOCTOR HAD ME TRY MONO VISION WITH MY CONTACT LENSES. I FELT OFF BALANCE THEN AND I FEEL THE SAME WAY NOW.

Your dizziness may be related to your eyes. So i suggest to you to see a eye doctor first. If your eyes are not causing the problem eye suggest to you to see a Neurologist or Ear, nose, throat specialist to rule out:

  • benign positional vertigo
  • vertebrobasilar insufficiency
  • cholesteatoma
  • labrynthitis
  • orthostatic hypotension

In the mean time drink enough liquid to hydrate yourself well. Raise slowly from sitting to standing position. Avoid sudden turns.
