health problems

Sent to Health Experts August 28 11:35 AM

my husband has pain in his throat. His throat sometimes swells to where I can see a lump on the outside. He has difficulty swallowing at times, sometimes unexplained fevers. This has been going on for a few years. He finally went to the dr. last year. They did a ct scan, scope through the nose and other tests and say they found nothing. I want to find a dr. that will look at these test results for another opinion and I don't know where to turn. Some of the problem could be in communication between the dr and my husband. He does not complain about anything and is very leery of physicians. He was diagnosed about 15 years ago with fibromyalgia and some bulged disks in his back. He would not take any medication and has learned to live with the pain. He exercises daily and eats fairly healthy. He also has had a rash develop over the past year or year and a half on his hands. It itches and has some raised bumps that look like scabs. In 2001 he suddenly fell very ill. High fever, vomiting and MAJOR pain in his chest. I believe from seeing my mom have one, that he had a heart attack. He would not go to the doctor. He stayed in bed for 3 days. then went back to work. Could all this be connected? I don't know how to help him or where to turn. For the past few days I've noticed him clearing his throat and swallowing hard again. Please give me some direction. Thanks

Reply to Dr AMIT MUNJAL's Post: Neither of these things were mentioned to my knowledge. I do have copies of all of his blood work and test results if this would help.

Reply to Dr AMIT MUNJAL's Post: I'm sorry. I am not very familiar with computers, and I didn't see this message before. I asked my husband if the dr did a throat culture when he was in. He said no, they just sent him for the scan. What should we do next? I know I won't get him to a doctor without having a referral from someone who has had good response from one.

Reply to Dr AMIT MUNJAL's Post: They are not swollen lymph nodes from what I know. It's not tender on the outside. As to where, I only saw it when he coughed or tried to clear his throat. I'd say it's about 1/3 from his chin to his ear and about 1 1/2 to 2 inches below the jaw. I appreciate all the time you're taking with this. Where is the accept button?

Relist: I still need help.
We did see an ENT. She did the scope. She is the wife of our internal med doctor, so it looks like they just conspired for more money as no results made sense

Reply to Dr AMIT MUNJAL's Post: There is no mass and he appears to be healthy. How's that for someone who feels and sees these symptoms for so long? It is soooo frustrating.
