Hello,

My immediate response is that it is quite possible your son has pneumonia. He should be seen by a doctor today for a chest x-ray, complete blood count and physical exam. Since he has been sick for a week and is not getting any better and is extremely fatigued, this is by far the best thing you can do.

Other reasons he could be sick are a virus, sinus infection, strept throat, ear infection, although I know you have written that he does not have any other symptoms. It is possible to have a strept throat infection without a sore throat and an antibiotic is always required to clear up a strept infection before it leads to other complications.

I hope you're able to get an appointment quickly and I hope your son feels better soon. Please let me know if I can help you further and I will be glad to!
