Reply to Alexander Irvine's Post: It all started 2 weeks ago when I woke up and felt like I could no swollow and nt throut was constricting. My Doctor started treating me for an ulsor but it turns out that is not the problem. This past Fridays night I had to go to the ER due to the condition was getting worst and I started having chest pains. They did all the blood work and EKG and so forth but it all came back negtive as well as the chest X-rays. The ER Doctor put me on a stairode dosage and it worked great, all my pain was gone till I finished them and then this Friday it started all over again. I also experinced tounge swelling and pain in my joints and mussells. I went back to my Doctor on Thrsday and thats when he gave me the above medicstions. Friday i woke up and my hands were swollen and itchy and rxtreamly painfull with red blotches on my palms. I tried taking a shower this morning and the hot water mae my hands hurt even more so I had to take a cold shower. My body feels like I was run over and draged down the road for 100 miles and I want to do is sleep. I have not lost any appitate. Eating is no problem.

Hi

Why did your Dr give you the azithromycin?

You seem to be describing an allergic reaction.

He said it is not an allergic reaction due to the time line from when I took the first does of Nexium. It has to be something els. Some knid of infection that is affecting my mussels and jointmakink them soar and now with my hands being swollen and a painfull itch.

These are markers of inflammtion - blood test results.

Some conditions can cause joint pain + swelling but these would be associated with an elevation in CRP and ESR.
