what does having white spots on my throat mean?

i am a teenager. and im at home sick and i have white spots on the back of my throat. i also have swollen glands and i used to have a temp ranging around 100 to 103. what is it? what should i do? please help me. thanks

 Have your parents take you to a doctor.  You most likely have strep throat a bacterial infection and need an antibiotic.  Untreated strep can cause permanent damage to your heart and kidneys.  I hope you feel better soon.  Nurse Hope

Reply to nursehope's Post: i went to the doctor today accually. and the strep taste came up negitive. they are sending it in for more testing or something like that. but they said something in my neck was swollen...my limpnoids or something.i dont kno. but they drew blood for mono. i really hope i dont have mono. are u alound to hang out with friends if u have mono? or is it contagius? its winter break and we dont have school and i am stuck inside my house..this sucks.
