My blood test of the thyroid showed a number within the norms, but very close to being on the high side and a thyroid ultrasound showed some small nodules. What should my next step be?

Hello,

Do you remember what the numbers were? There should be at least a number for TSH and one for free T4.

I have the TSH only - the range is from .27 - 4.2 uIU/mc and my number is 3.53

That's a shame. TSH all by itself without free T4 doesn't really tell anything about thyroid function. Your endocrinologist may want to get a complete thyroid panel, and discuss fine needle aspiration to determine the nature of the nodules as the next step.
