I had papillary thyroid cancer 3 years ago and my thyroid removed with a remnant left. I now have 2 nodules on my lung ct. Is a PET scan as effective as an I-131 scan? I've had 2 oppinions on this and am confused. I would prefer the PET scan so I can get it right away and not go off thyroid meds.
