swollen fingers
Sent to Health Experts August 04 10:38 AM

I work for a moving company as a secretary, I helped on a move 2 weeks ago and my fingers swelled badly they went back down to almost normal then I went bowling and they swelled up badly again, seems like anytime I use my hand for anything with some weight they swell up, they dont hurt but are puffy and tight my age is 43. They seem to swell more at night then go down a little by morning. My fingers never did this until I did that one moving job and now they keep swelling.

Prolonged dependent position of the hands can cause the swelling provided that you do not have any heart, liver , kidney and thyroid problem. Cutting salt intake and elevating the arms can help to bring the swelling down.

I suggest to you to avoid keeping your hand in a dependent position for a while and elevate the arms at night by putting couple pillows under it. Sometimes small amount of diuretic pill prescribed to you by your doctor also can help to prevent the swelling.
