I'm rapidly gaining weight in my mid-section and

I'm rapidly gaining weight in my mid-section and can't lose any of it with dieting and exercise. I'm fatigued often (my eyes always seem heavy), mood swings, "floaters" in my eyes often, constantly hungry. Do these symptoms mean anything in particular beside "getting older" as past doctors have told me?
