I was taking Zoloft and I had to change to a Generic brand three weeks ago. I have had a history of anxiety disorder. The symptoms I am experiencing now are-- breaking out in a cold clammy sweat, disorientation, and minor anxiety. Could this be a change in meds. or the beginning of another string of anxiety attacks.

This really could be from both. The zoloft in and of itself may present with the symptoms that you have described. Generics would also contribute similar or same side effects. It may be that you need the meds adjusted as it takes about 3 weeks time to fully enter your system well.

If the above symptoms continue for 2-3 days time or you become more anxious then contact your prescribing doctor and see if he can discuss the problem with you. It may be that you need a mild sedative as well or just the adjustment of the generic Zoloft. A follow up exam may be needed on this to ensure the generic is working as well as the name brand. Generics are not equal. Your doctor could better ascertain if this is due to anxiety or the meds. Let me know if you need further assistance on this.

Hello

This could be related to thyroid problems, yes.

I would also give the generic another week or two to get the full blood level in your system.
